Jose Mourinho confirmed that he will take a coaching job in the rising Saudi Pro League in the near future while also denying a possible return to the Spanish club, Real Madrid.
Mourinho is currently coaching an Italian club, AS Roma, and he is currently in charge for the third season. In the previous two seasons, the 60-year-old led them to a UEFA Conference League win and the final of the UEFA Europa League.
The former Chelsea boss had turned down a blockbuster move to the Middle East earlier this year in order to stay at Roma for third consecutive but he is ready to take on a new challenge now.
During an interview with an Egypt TV channel MBC Masr, owned by Saudi MBC Group, Mourinho seemed confident that he would move to the Gulf country next year.
"I will go to Saudi Arabia in some free time, but I am convinced that I will work there. I don't know when, but I am pretty sure of it," Mourinho said.
"I am committed to my work with Roma and I want to give everything to the club until the last day,' added Mourinho after a disappointing start to the season.
"No one knows the future, but I will definitely do this (working in Saudi Arabia)," he said.
Mourinho was also asked if he would consider a possible return to Real Madrid as Los Blancos' current head coach Carlo Ancelotti is set to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.
"Me at Real Madrid? When you have a super coach, why should you think of another?... I hope that the season goes fantastically and that next season Carlo is still there because I think he is the perfect coach for Real Madrid," he added.
It must be noted that Mourinho led Madrid for three seasons from 2010 to 2013 and won three trophies (Copa Del Ray, La Liga and Spanish Super Cup). He also reached the UEFA Champions League (UCL) semi-final for three years in a row but couldn't qualify for the final.
